Twenty eight year old Jenny Duncalf is a past winner of the European Junior title, National Junior title (seven times) and World Junior Team title. Now a full time professional on the World Tour other milestones are being ticked off one-by-one by the number one squash player in Britain, including becoming British Individual Champion, European Individual Champion, World Team Champion and European Team Champion, the latter two whilst representing the England women’s team.
Talented and athletic, Jenny has made her mark in the upper reaches of the World Rankings for quite some time now, but 2009 proved to be a phenomenal year for the Harrogate based player. Her improved confidence was clear in her play as the year progressed and as a result the English ace won three high profile tournaments on the WISPA World Tour, beating five-time World Champion Nicol David back to back in the final of the US Open and prestigious Qatar Classic.
Her improved results catapulted Jenny up the rankings to a career high position of number two in December 2009, a spot that she has consolidated in 2010, even extending her lead over the GrinhamSisters Natalie & Rachael, compatriot Alison Waters and Egypt’s Omneya Abdel Kawy.
The next immediate goal for Jenny is to start closing the gap between her and Malaysia’s Nicol David at the top of the rankings and to tick off the few milestones that still elude her. Becoming World number one and winning the World and British Open crowns are the main targets that Jenny has set herself for the next few years and looking at her current form, you wouldn’t bet against her achieving these amazing feats!
