It’s the start of a new year and I finished 2013 on a high by winning my last 3 Women’s Squash Association (WSA) events. This has definitely given me a good platform to start 2014!
It's been 2 months since I started my summer training and things are going as well as expected. I have been training hard, I’m feeling fit and the mind is getting ready for my next tournament, the Australia Day Challenge, starting on the 24th of January 2014 in Ipswich.
The challenge in preparing for the start of the New Year has been compounded by the fact that I'm now without a coach. In December 2013 the AIS Squash program drew to a close, at the same time Squash Australia loss its head coach and is yet to appoint a replacement.
Squash Australia and the AIS have been fantastic over the years and the support provided is one of the main reasons for my past success. However many of the services provide by the AIS and Squash Australia are no longer available.
I have had the good fortune to gaining the support of Gordon Hepburn and Powerhouse Prodigy as my strength, conditioning and fitness coaches and my boyfriend Marcus as my nutritionist. However I still need to secure the services of a coach and cover the expense of not only the coach but also the cost of physiotherapist, massage therapist, travel, rent, supplements and equipment.
I seen many people within the sporting community struggle to the point of giving up all hope but I remain dedicated to my goal of making the Commonwealth Games team once again and representing Australia in Glasgow and Gold Coast, Australia.
I have put together a campaign to help raise funds. My campaign outlines a number of rewards I’m able to offer as a sign of my appreciation of your financial support.
Harrow Sports donated some of their apparel so I able to put together gift packs and have shirts on offer as some of my rewards on my campaign. Thank you Harrow Sports.
I’m in search of a major sponsor so if you know of anyone that wants to invest some money into a great ambassador then Id love to work with them and their company.
Please stay in contact and if you haven’t already Joined My Team it would be very appreciated if you would. Go to my Sports page and under the Follow Me box click on the Join My Team. Log in and join my network.
Ill keep you all updated on my progress during the Australia Day Challenge next week.
