Progressing Well

06 Nov 2013 | Hits: 326

In the midst of the last tour of the year, its been a tough few weeks with Penang, Macau, QLD Open, Caboolture Open and one more to go Mackay Open next weekend.

I had another great result this weekend just gone, winning the Caboolture Open without dropping a game and playing really good squash.  I am feeling more confident (winning the QLD Open and Caboolture Open might have something to do with it.)  I am so happy with how my squash is progressing, it is so exciting and a great feeling to be back winning tournaments again.   You may all be aware that the last few months has been really tough, as I have struggled to get my speed back on court which has been a major issue for me during the past lot of tournaments this year.  So you can understand how important it was for me when I won the QLD Open last weekend to give me a massive confidence boost.

I have altered my training in the past 2 weeks, trying something different with my strength, speed and endurance side of things.  I have been doing one on one session with Steve Moy from Powerhouse Prodigy in Stafford.  Powerhouse Prodigy owner Steve Moy provides his clients with the best total health and fitness service in Brisbane today.  Steve’s training background is unique and guarantees results.

This gym is also the home of Ian Jacobs who is triple world champion kick boxer and is listed in the hall of fame and currently holds the fastest knock out in the world!

It’s the real deal a gym that is owned and operated by ex world champions, my thinking is that I can only gain and learn huge knowledge physically and mentally by surrounding myself by such great athletes.

Today Wednesday,  took Monday and Tuesday off after such a very busy heavy workload of training, preparation and tournament play.  On my days off I had a well-earned massage, followed by am Epsom salts bath, good food and rest before it all starts again tomorrow with the preparation for Mackay open that starts Friday.

That’s it from me. It’s not a long entry this time. Short and sweet. Hope you enjoyed the read and look out for the next entry and fingers crossed, lets make it a hat-trick!
