11:50 AEST Thu Mar 14 2013

Queenslander Lisa Camilleri has stormed into the semi-finals of the women's squash tour event in Kuala Lumpur with a straight-games win over Malaysia's Vanessa Raj.

Camilleri showed she was well on her way back to the world's top 50 when she disposed of Raj 11-6 11-7 11-5 to set up a clash with surprise semi-finalist Rachel Arnold.

The young Malaysian qualifier upset sixth-seeded countrywoman Zuljijjah Binti Azan 11-9 11-9 6-11 11-8.

Camilleri reached a career-high ranking of 28 in May, 2011 before a chronic foot injury kept her off court for more than a year.

She is back to No.149 in the world after reaching the final of her first tournament back, the Australia Day Challenge in Brisbane.

The second semi-final will be between top seed Line Hansen of Denmark and seventh-seeded Egyptian Nouran El Torky.
