South Australians had a great "Individuals" campaign at this year's Australian Junior Championships, held in Perth.  Alex Haydon won the U/15 Girls event, defeating fellow South Aussie, Lauren McInerney 11-6, 11-5, 11-5.  I won the U/17 Boys, beating Todd Riches of NSW, 11-8, 11-6, 11-5 in a tough final that lasted 45 minutes.  The final score didn't really reflect the closeness of the match which had some very long rallies.  Lauren Aspinall won the U/17 Girls championship after a hard-fought, 4 game, match against Emily Turner, with a final scoreline of 11-6, 11-7, 4-11, 11-8.

Also from South Australia, 8th seeded, Nimsari Weerasinghe was runner up in the U/13 Girls at her first AJC and Maaz Khatri was defeated in the U/15 Boys final by the brilliant Peter Nuttall in a nail-biting 11-9, 11-9, 9-11, 12-10 finish!

Overall, South Australia left Perth with 3 Titles and 3 Runners Up, a fantastic reward for all the hard work by all players and coaches James Rogers and Danny Haydon.
