My name is Courtney West and I am a professional Squash Player. I have been playing squash for 12 years, with only the last 2 years as a full time professional. I have had many ups and downs in this time but find myself here in my current position more hungry and determined than ever.

I have funded myself my whole squash career through part time jobs and coaching but as of February last year I embarked on a journey to Europe, which was a great learning experience for me as a player. From the training and coaching I received to the experience gained playing the many different styles of squash players out there. The trip was definitely worth me depleting my savings as I feel I learnt so much, but has left me in a position where I am hungry to continue with my career but do require a bit of help financially in order to take the necessary steps involved in achieving my goals.

My dream and long term goal is to compete in the PSA Super Series events which are the biggest and most prestigious events on the PSA World tour. In order to achieve this goal I have many smaller goals I have to accomplish. The main thing that stops me competing in the big events is the fact that my ranking is too low. I will have to establish myself into the top 100 in the world. I give myself a timeline of approximately 12 months to get there. Currently my ranking is 280. In order to get my ranking to where it needs to be I need to string together some good results in some of the smaller tournaments on the tour around the world. Another big change I have made and believe has been a huge step in the right direction is a move I made to England. I am now lucky enough to be training under the tutalage of world class coach David Pearson who was Englands national coach for 15 years and still works with a number of outstanding players including world no 1 Nick Mathew.

With your help I will be able to sustain myself in england with my expenses such as rent and training and also get myself to tournaments around the world in my hunt for the required ranking points to achieve my desired ranking inside the top 100 in the world.
