My Story
2010 saw Kasey Brown really establish herself as a threat and contender on the WSA tour. Another successful export from Australia, her first ever WSA World Tour title came in 2005 when she claimed the WA Open in her home country. It was a year later however that Kasey would really hit her stride as she not only retained the WA Open, but followed on with wins in the Naracoorte, South Australian and Australian Opens, beating higher seeds in all four events.
The athletic Australian from New South Wales made her debut in the top ten at the start of 2010. She started the year with two quarter finals at the Greenwich Open and Cleveland Classic, going down to Egyptians Omneya Abdel Kawy and Raneem El Weleily.
She represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010. She came away from the event the only player to secure three medals. A truly dramatic win over Madeline Perry in the quarter final of the singles was memorable, especially coming from two games down. She lost out to Nicol David in the semi final and the received a walk over Alison Waters in the bronze medal play off. She took another bronze medal with teammate Donna Urquhart in the Women's Doubles. The icing on the cake was the Gold medal she achieved in the Mixed Doubles with partner Cameron Pilley.
She briefly held the world No5 spot at the end of 2011, following a semi-final finish in the Carol Weymuller Open and runner-up in the US Open, but was unable to play to her seeding in the first half of 2012. The Australian began a more consistent level after the summer-break, reaching the quarter-finals of her home event, the Australian Open, and later reached round two of the Malaysian Open. To finish the year, Brown beat Annie Au in the US Open to reach the quarters as a non-seeded player and also beat fifth seed Madeline Perry in the Hong Kong Open in November.
Brown started 2013 by reaching the final at the Tournament of Champions and the semi final of the Greenwich Open. She has followed this up by reaching the quarter final of the Texas Open and Allam British Open.
