Solayman Nowrozi (Solly)
2014 World Junior Championships

My Story
I am talented 16 year old professional squash player. I was born in Pakistan. I practice the Muslim faith and my faith helps me achieve my life goals. I love Squash a lot and it’s my ambition and goal to become world number 1 squash player and world champion.
Another goal that I have is to assist the poor and needy people and I am hopeful that the income that I may earn from my squash achievements will help me achieve this goal.
I started to play squash in Pakistan but i didn’t get any coaching. I was doing training all by myself but when I came in Australia I’m now coached by Robyn Prentice at Acacia ridge squash and tennis club. Robyn Prentice is a professional squash coach with many years’ experience of coaching all levels in Canada and Australia. Her playing career spans over 30 years with success at National and International events.
I have been playing for only 3 years and I have achieved a lot in these three years. I won over 10 big and small tournaments around Queensland in my very first year in Australia and I’m still continuing to do it. I was successful at winning two School State championship and represented Queensland School team. I also won Queensland junior championship this year which made me number 1 in Queensland. I represented the Queensland Sharks team in the nationals. I was unranked when I first played the nationals but I came 5th in under 15s. I am currently playing in U17s and became number 1 in Australia. I got selected in the Australian team and represented my newly country in the Trans-Tasman test series against New Zealand and eventually Australia won by 18-16.
I am currently sponsored by Harrow and Acacia Ridge Squash Club and training under Robyn Prentice at Acacia ridge. I am playing fixtures for Acacia ridge at Premier and Division 1 level number 1. I am training very hard. I trained 2-3 times a day (5-6 hours) I ask a lot of people around Brisbane to train with me so I can learn and improve my game. I am training as a Professional athlete and my training includes both mental and physical aspects. My ambition is to become world champion and world number 1 squash player and I will do anything to achieve my goal. I believe in Allah (God) and myself. I need a lot of financial support so I can go and achieve my dream. Any help will be much appreciated.

I have been playing squash for 3 year. Initially it was just a way to do something challenging and fun, but it has grown into something much more and is now my life and my passion.
